Shock-jock 'not sorry' for insult
UNMOVED: Mix 104.9 shock jock Pete Davies is refusing to apologise for his comments he made about two Territory Senators Nigel Scullion and Trish Crossin missing a crucial vote.
THE Territory's top radio shock-jock is in danger of being sacked after refusing to apologise to politicians he insulted on air.
Mix 104.9 broadcaster Pete Davies called the Territory's two Senators - Labor veteran Trish Crossin and the CLP's Nigel Scullion - "gutless ****holes" for their attitude to the building of a nuclear waste dump in the Territory.
He was yesterday ordered by station manager Mark Johnson to say sorry - but refused.
Mr Davies told the Northern Territory News that he expected at least to be suspended for a couple of days over his refusal to apologise.
"I don't care - I'll go fishing," he said.
The NT's highest-rating talkback host said Senators Crossin and Scullion deserved criticism for not opposing the waste dump.
"I'm not worried about being fired for what I said."
Mr Davies has worked in radio for 21 years.
